Born in Chicago to French and Polish parents, currently living in his adoptive Madrid, Kayetan has always lived in a kind of limbo, a space outside of and between societies, languages, and fixed points of view. Maybe that's why he gravitates toward flotation and ambiguity, toward masks that define as well as hide the person behind them.
He briefly studied drawing under painter Kerry James Marshall in Chicago and photography at EFTI in Madrid, but is mostly self-taught--a student of patient, careful observation.
